Synopsis
Captain, a spy from North Vietnam, finds it hard to adjust to his new life as a refugee in the US
An undercover spy posing as an army officer in the Vietnam War is forced to escape to the US along with his army general. Follow Captain's journey as he adapts to living in the states as a refugee, and deals with the drama that comes with living life as a secret spy in a foreign land.

The Sympathizer Season 1 is the first season of an American drama series based on the Pulitzer winning novel of the same name. The series is produced by A24 and distributed by HBO with Park Chan-wook, Don McKellar, Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey, Amanda Burrell, Niv Fichman, Kim Ly Ron Schmidt, Viet Thanh Nguyen, and Jisun Beck attached as co-producers.
Australian actor Hoa Xuande is set to play the titular role of the North Vietnamese spy, Captain. He is supported by Fred Nguyen Khan as Bon, Toan Le as the General, Duy Nguyễn as Man, Vy Le as Lana, Alan Trong as Sonny, and Robert Downey Jr. taking on the role of multiple villains. The series also features Sandra Oh as Ms Sofia Mori in the supporting cast.
