In 1980s New York City, Vincent is a highly successful puppeteer and creator of the Good Day Sunshine children’s television series. But when his 9-year-old son Edgar suddenly disappears, Vincent’s life starts to fall apart. Eric is a psychological thriller-drama limited series produced for Netflix. The series is created by Welsh screenwriter Abi Morgan, whose previous works include The Split, The Iron Lady, and Brick Lane, amongst others. Eric is directed by Lucy Forbes, who is known for her work on The End of the F***ing World and This Is Going to Hurt.
Eric stars acclaimed British actor Benedict Cumberbatch as Vincent, a father desperately looking for his missing son in 1980s New York City. Cumberbatch is known for his roles in The Imitation Game, 12 Years a Slave, Sherlock, and Doctor Strange — to name a few. He is joined by Ivan Howe, who plays Vincent’s son, Edgar. McKinley Belcher III plays lead detective Ledroit, and Gaby Hoffmann joins as Cassie.
