Jared Harris has the uncanny ability that all great screen performers have: they are simultaneously recognizable and yet utterly transformed into their character. From the doomed Russian scientist Valery Legasov in “Chernobyl” (2019) to stiff Brit abroad Lane Pryce in “Mad Men” (2009-20212), Jared Harris has a talent for complex characters. He has starred as iconic figures both fictional and historical, including James Moriarty in “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” (2011), Ulysses S. Grant in “Lincoln” (2012), King George VI in “The Crown” (2016-17), and Andy Warhol in “I Shot Andy Warhol” (1996). His leading role as the prophetic scientist Hari Seldon in the television series “Foundation” (2021–) sees him bring his skill and experience to Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi universe.
