Synopsis
Dorrigo Evans fights to save his men, and return home to Australia
In August 1943, Australian army surgeon Dorrigo Evans is barely keeping his men alive as they suffer from cholera, starvation and beatings in a Japanese POW camp on the Thai-Burmese border. While at the camp, Dorrigo receives a letter that changes his life forever.

The Narrow Road To The Deep North is an upcoming historical drama based on Richard Flanagan’s Booker Prize winning novel of the same name. The five-part miniseries on Amazon Prime Video is written by Shaun Grant and directed by Justin Kurzel. Flanagan, Grant, Kurzel, Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner are all executive producers on the show, with Alexandra Taussig producing.
Jacob Elordi stars in The Narrow Road To The Deep North as Dorrigo Evans, an Australian army surgeon at a World War II Thai-Burmese camp. The series also stars Odessa Young as Amy Mulvaney, a woman Dorrigo had an affair with. Ciarán Hinds plays an older Dorrigo Evans, with Olivia DeJonge as Ella, Heather Mitchell as older Ella, Thomas Weatherall as Frank Gardiner, Show Kasamatsu as Major Nakamura, Charles An as The Goanna and Simon Baker as Keith.
