Synopsis

Joe Goldberg wants a fresh start, but his past continues to haunt him

After a chaotic stint in London, Joe Goldberg is back to his serial killing antics in New York City. Looking for a fresh state, he has returned to his roots with his wealthy girlfriend Kate beside him. The pair meet their match when they are outsmarted by one of Joe’s previous victims, Marienne, who fakes her own death in an attempt to expose Joe’s murderous ways.

What is YOU season 5 about?

The storyline for season 5 will introduce Joe’s new extended family including Kate’s brother Joe, and Anna Camp as Kate’s identical twin sisters. As Joe moves back to New York City, he will also be haunted by someone from his past, and must deal with the fallout from this reunion.

Who is in the YOU season 5 cast?

Penn Badgley reprises his role as Joe Goldberg, a man who manages a bookshop by day and is an obsessive serial killer by night. The Gossip Girl alum is joined by Charlotte Ritchie (Ghosts, Fresh Meat) as Kate Galvin. Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) plays Joe’s former partner Marienne Bellamy, with Madeline Brewer as Bronte, a young playwright who starts working in Joe’s bookshop.

The fifth season will also feature Griffin Matthews (The Flight Attendant) plays Kate’s brother Teddy Lockwood, and Anna Camp playing both of Kate’s identical twin sisters Raegan and Maddie. Natasha Behnam plays seemingly aloof hipster, Dominique, b (Station 19) plays new character Phoenix, Pete Ploszek (Parks and Recreation) plays Reagan’s husband Harrison, with Tom Francis as Clayton.

Who is the team behind YOU season 5?

YOU is based on the Caroline Kepnes’ bestselling You novel series. The show is developed by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble for Netflix. Gamble served as showrunner for the first four seasons, but has stepped down for season 5. Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo will assume the showrunner responsibilities together. Foley has worked on the series since season 1, and Lo joined the show in season 2.
