Elemental

The Good Dinosaur director takes on the elements in upcoming Pixar animated film 

Elemental is an animated romantic dramedy film directed by Peter Sohn for Pixar Studios. Sohn previously directed the 2015 animated film, The Good Dinosaur, and was involved with Pixar animation studio for many years. He has previously voiced the characters of Emile in Ratatouille, Squishy in Monsters University, and Sox in Lightyear and worked within the story department of a number of Pixar projects including Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, WALL-E and Up, just to name a few. The screenplay for Elemental is written by John Hoberg, Kat Likkel, Brenda Hsueh from a story by those three plus Sohn. The film is produced by Denise Ream with legendary composer Thomas Newman composing the film’s score. Newman has a long history with the studio as he’s scored such titles as Finding Nemo, WALL-E and Finding Dory, the first two earning him Academy Award nominations. 

The voice cast includes Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie portraying the lead characters of Ember Lumen and Wade Ripple respectively. Ronnie del Carmen voices Ember's bigoted father, Bernie, while Shila Ommi voices her mother, Cinder. Mason Wertheimer plays Ember's young savvy neighbour, Clod, who is an earth element. Wendi McLendon-Covey voices an air element named Gale and is Wade's employer. The iconic Catherine O'Hara voices Wade's mother, Brook Ripple and Joe Pera rounds out the cast as the overgrown bureaucrat earth element, Fern.
