A couple and their five children move from Romania to Norway, where a cultural clash over parenting and religion upends their lives

Lisbet and Mihai Gheorghiu move from their small religious community in Romania to Lisbet’s hometown in Norway with their five children. As they settle into their new home, cultural clashes begin to chip away at the family and eventually come to a head as their parenting and religious beliefs are increasingly viewed as incompatible—both by their neighbours and the state itself.
