Count Dracula has set up shop in modern-day New Orleans, and prefers to have his lackey, Renfield, do most of the heavy lifting. But as Renfield becomes steadily overburdened, and he falls in love with a traffic cop, Rebecca, he becomes disillusioned by Dracula and seeks to break free of their bond — but it won’t be easy to accomplish.
Renfield is a comedy horror film produced by Universal Pictures and Skybound Entertainment. The film is directed by Chris McKay, who also directed The Lego Batman Movie and The Tomorrow War. Renfield is based on a screenplay written by Ryan Ridley, created from an original idea by prolific American comic book writer Robert Kirkman (creator of The Walking Dead).
Nicolas Cage stars as the narcissistic Count Dracula, and Nicholas Hoult plays his unfortunate servant, the titular Renfield. Rapper Awkwafina plays Rebecca Quincy, Renfield’s love interest, and Ben Schwartz plays Teddy Lobo.
