The Acolyte is a female-centric Disney mystery series set in the Star Wars universe
The Acolyte Season 1 is the upcoming first season in the sci-fi mystery-thriller series produced by Lucasfilm and Disney. The season takes place in eight parts and is set within the Star Wars universe. Long-time Star Wars fan Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) and Rayne Roberts write the series, which is based on Headland's passion project idea that she pitched to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. The series takes place 100 years before Star Wars: Episode I and follows the investigation into a series of crimes by a former padawan and her Jedi Master.
The former padawan at the heart of the story is played by Amandla Stenberg. The rest of cast includes Lee Jung-jae, Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dafne Keen, and Dean-Charles Chapman.
