Highlighting treasures cherished beyond value, the television series traces the historical background and growing fame of these cultural icons as they coincide with the events and personalities of their time: tales of misfortune and madness, insight and intrigue, adoration and discovery. The stories entwine dramatized events with evocative archival images and insights from collectors and curators. Each of these wonderful treasures is a masterpiece of exceptional beauty and artistry; each has shaped aesthetic sentiment or epitomized the accomplishments of an era.
