Most movie and television lovers will recognize Haley Lu Richardson for her breakthrough role as Portia in the second season of the HBO drama “The White Lotus” (2022). But keen-eyed movie buffs may have first spotted her starring in the acclaimed film “Columbus” (2017), directed by South Korean filmmaker Kogonada. Richardson has appeared in other movies by the same director, such as “After Yang” (2021) and “Zi” (2026), the latter of which she is credited as a producer on. Her early career was defined by appearances in the coming-of-age movie “The Edge of Seventeen” (2016) and M. Night Shyamalan’s hit thriller “Split” (2016). She also starred in the period drama “The Chaperone” (2018), the historical thriller “Operation Finale” (2018), and the comedy “Support the Girls” (2018). She executive produced and starred in the Netflix romcom “Love at First Sight” (2023) and was cast in Gore Verbinski’s time-traveling sci-fi adventure movie “Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die” (2025). Richardson appeared alongside Emilia Clarke in the Peacock crime thriller “Ponies” (2026).
