Born and raised in Scotland, Jack Lowden has starred in movies like "Dunkirk" (2017) and "Mary Queen of Scots" (2018), but he’s best known for his leading role as River Cartwright in the hit series "Slow Horses" (2022–present). The role earned Lowden Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG, and BAFTA nominations, and garnered rave reviews. On top of being an actor, Lowden is also a producer and has worked on numerous films, including "The Outrun" (2024), which earned its star Saoirse Ronan numerous nominations at film festivals across the globe. In 2024, Lowden ended up marrying Ronan in a secret ceremony in Edinburgh, Scotland. Lowden is also an accomplished theater actor and has had numerous starring roles in West End productions of "Ghosts", "Chariots of Fire", and "The Fifth Step", where he starred opposite Martin Freeman.
