Ex-NSA contractor Reality Winner is sentenced to five years in prison
FBI agents arrested and interrogated former NSA intelligence contractor Reality Winner on the grounds of leaking classified information. The information in question pertained to Russian meddling in the 2016 US presidential election that was provided to The Intercept news publication. Winner was sentenced to the longest sentence in history of leaking government information without authorisation - five years and three months.

Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney stars in NSA whistleblower biopic
Reality is a drama biopic movie based on the true story of ex-NSA intelligence officer Reality Winner. Winner was arrested by the FBI in 2017 for leaking information about Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election. Making her directorial debut is Tina Satter, she co-wrote the screenplay with James Paul Dallas. The screenplay was adapted from Satter’s play, Is This A Room. The film premiered at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival on February 18, 2023.
Emmy Award nominee Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, The White Lotus) stars as the former NSA contractor Reality Winner. Josh Hamilton (13 Reasons Why) plays FBI Justin C. Garrick alongside Marchánt Davis as FBI agent R. Wallace Taylor.
