Disney+ revives Daredevil for a sequel series from co-creators of Covert Affairs
Daredevil: Born Again is an upcoming superhero TV series created by Matt Corman and Chris Ord for Disney+. It is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett. Born Again serves as a continuation of the previous Daredevil series which aired on Netflix from 2015 to 2018 and was created by Drew Goddard. However, it also functions independently as a separate production and belongs to Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Corman and Ord are best known for creating the USA Network action series Covert Affairs which ran for five seasons. Daredevil: Born Again is composed of 18 episodes with multiple directors helming their respective episodes including Michael Cuesta, who directs the first episode, along with Clark Johnson and Jeffrey Nachmanof.
Jill Blankenship and Grainne Godfree, both of whom have experience writing for the Arrowverse, are among the writers for Daredevil: Born Again along with Aisha Porter-Christie, David Feige, Devon Kliger, Thomas Wong, and Zachary Reiter. Corman and Ord executive produce the series alongside Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito and Chris Gary.
Charlie Cox reprises his beloved role as Daredevil/Matt Murdock, following his memorable cameos in other MCU projects. Fans have embraced Cox's portrayal of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen during the initial three-season run. Vincent D'Onofrio also returns, donning the iconic white blazer once again to portray the formidable Kingpin/Wilson Fisk. Additionally, Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle, better known as The Punisher.
Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson return as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, respectively. Sandrine Holt takes on the role of Vanessa Fisk which was originally played by Ayelet Zurer. The talented ensemble cast also includes Margarita Levieva, Arty Froushan, Michael Gandolfini, and Nikki M. James.
