Covert Affairs co-creators helm Daredevil revival series on Disney+
Daredevil: Born Again season 1 is the upcoming season of the Disney+ superhero TV series from Matt Corman and Chris Ord. It is based on a Marvel Comics character originally created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett. It serves as a continuation of the previous Daredevil series that aired on Netflix from 2015 to 2018, created by Drew Goddard. However, Daredevil: Born Again can also be enjoyed as a standalone production and is part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The series creators, Corman and Ord, are most recognized for their work on the USA Network action series Covert Affairs, which had a successful five-season run. Comprising a total of 18 episodes, Daredevil: Born Again features a diverse lineup of directors, including Michael Cuesta, who directs the first episode, along with Clark Johnson and Jeffrey Nachmanoff leading other episodes.
Jill Blankenship and Grainne Godfree, known for their contributions to the Arrowverse, join the writing team for Daredevil: Born Again. They are joined by Aisha Porter-Christie, David Feige, Devon Kliger, Thomas Wong and Zachary Reiter. Executive producers for the series include Corman and Ord, along with Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito and Chris Gary.
Charlie Cox makes a highly anticipated return as Daredevil/Matt Murdock, reprising his beloved role after making memorable appearances in other MCU projects. Fans have warmly embraced Cox's portrayal of the vigilante known as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen during the initial three-season run of the original series. Vincent D'Onofrio also returns, once again donning the iconic white blazer to deliver a powerful performance as the formidable Kingpin/Wilson Fisk. Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson return as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, respectively.
Sandrine Holt takes on the role of Vanessa Fisk, originally portrayed by Ayelet Zurer. The talented ensemble cast further includes Margarita Levieva, Arty Froushan, Michael Gandolfini, and Nikki M. James.
