Benedetta (2021)

A French psychological thriller about a lesbian nun experiencing religious visions

Loosely based on a true story, a 17th century nun, Benedetta Carlini, is enrolled into a convent as a child. In adulthood, she is assigned to oversee another nun’s integration into convent life – Bartolomea. The two develop a sexual relationship; but as it progresses, Benedetta begins to experience more and more vivid religious visions. As eyes turn to Benedetta, the affair between the two women threatens to reveal itself.
