What is Blade about?

Blade is an upcoming superhero action film produced by Marvel Studios for Disney. The film reboots the Blade series, which originally began in 1998 starring Wesley Snipes and follows the story of a half-vampire, half-human vampire hunter. The films themselves are based on the comic book character of the same name created by Marv Wolfman. Blade is the seventh film in Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). True Detective writer Nic Pizzolato pens the screenplay.

Who stars in Blade?

The film stars Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali as the half-human vampire hunter, Blade. He takes on the character after Wesley Snipes iconic turn as the character in Blade, Blade II, and Blade: Trinity. He is joined by heavyweight acting talents Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, Alan Tudyk, Mia Goth, and Amandla Stenberg.

Is Blade part of the MCU?

Yes, Blade is officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the upcoming rebooted film is the first to take place in the MCU. Previously the rights to Blade were owned by New Line Cinema, who were in charge of the previous Blade trilogy starring Wesley Snipes.
