Blade is an upcoming superhero action film produced by Marvel Studios for Disney. The film reboots the Blade series, which originally began in 1998 starring Wesley Snipes. The films themselves are based on the comic book character of the same name created by Marv Wolfman. Blade is the seventh film in Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). French director Yann Demange helms the film, while True Detective writer Nic Pizzolato pens the screenplay.
The film stars Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali as the half-human vampire hunter, Blade. He takes on the character after Wesley Snipes iconic turn as the character in Blade, Blade II, and Blade: Trinity. He is joined by heavyweight acting talents Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, Alan Tudyk, Mia Goth, and Amandla Stenberg.
