Amanda and Clay head to Long Island for a luxury vacation with their two kids, expecting a time to relax and recharge together. But when another couple shows up with news of a massive blackout fast approaching, the two families must figure out a way to deal with the potential new reality together.
Leave the World Behind is an upcoming American psychological thriller produced by Higher Ground Productions for a Netflix distribution. The production company Higher Ground was founded by Barack and Michelle Obama. The film is written and directed by Sam Esmail, the creator and director of the critically acclaimed series Mr. Robot, and is based on Rumaan Alam’s book of the same title.
Multi-award-winning actor Julia Roberts stars as Amanda. Two-time Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali plays opposite her as George G.H. Washington. They are joined by Hollywood staple Ethan Hawke as Clay, and Myha’la Herrold as Ruth Washington. The cast also includes Farrah Mckenzie, Charlie Evans, and Kevin Bacon.
