When a brother and sister move into the remote home of their mysterious new foster mother, they stumble upon a terrifying supernatural secret. As strange visions mount and reality unravels, the siblings are drawn into a ritual that blurs the line between the living and the dead - with no guarantee either of them will make it out.
There's plenty to chew over in this horrific exploration of grief
I didn't think the Philippou brothers could surpass their nightmarish debut, but Bring Her Back is even better than Talk to Me. And by "better", I mean it stopped me sleeping for two weeks instead of one. Sally Hawkins is a force to be reckoned with, bringing the same kind of unhinged energy Toni Collette did in Hereditary, except you might argue she "mothers" even harder here. One scene with a knife and another with a table haunt my dreams even now, yet it's the devastating grief rotting at the heart of this sick movie that affected me most. For fans of nasty yet thought-provoking cinema.
