The Idea of You is an upcoming romantic drama film produced for Amazon Prime Video. The film is directed by Michael Showalter, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jennifer Westfeldt. Showalter is known for creating and starring in Wet Hot American Summer and for directing The Big Sick. The Idea of You is based on the 2017 debut novel of the same name by actress Robinne Lee.
The Idea of You stars Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada) as Solène Marchand, a 40-something single mum who gets swept away in a romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), a member of the popular boy band August Moon. They are joined by Ella Rubin as Izzy, Solène’s daughter, and Reid Scott as Daniel, Solène’s ex husband. Other cast members include Jordan Aaron Hall, Jaiden Anthony, Viktor White, Dakota Adan, Annie Mumolo, and Perry Mattfeld.
