This Is Spinal Tap (1984)

A documentary crew follows Spinal Tap, England’s loudest band, on a tour that goes off the rails

Filmmaker Marty DiBergi sets out to chronicle the American tour of Spinal Tap, a British heavy metal band with a history of exploding drummers and questionable album covers. What he captures instead is a slow-motion implosion of missteps, misunderstandings and very tiny Stonehenge props. This deadpan mockumentary skewers rock excess with amps turned all the way up to eleven.
