What is Creature Commandos about?
Creature Commandos is an upcoming animated superhero television series produced by DC studios and Warner Bros Animation that follows the story of a team of superpowered monsters who carry out elite secret missions too dangerous for others to complete. The series is the first to be created under the DC Universe (DCU) Chapter 1 ‘Gods and Monsters’ banner, headed by Peter Safran and James Gunn, who is known for his work popularising the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Disney with the Guardians of the Galaxy films. Creature Commandos is based on the DC comics characters of the same name made for Weird War Tales #93, created by JM DeMatteis and illustrated by Pat Broderick in the 1980s.
Who stars in Creature Commandos?
The monster black ops team that is Creature Commandos is comprised of Rick Flag Sr (Frank Grillo), Eric Frankenstein (David Harbour), the scientist Bride of Frankenstein (Indira Varma), Nina Mazursky (Zoë Chao), the radioactive Doctor Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk), Anya Chalotra as Circe, and GI Robot and Weasel (both played by Sean Gunn). Other characters include Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), who assembles the Creature Commandos, Princess Ilana Rostovic (Maria Bakalova), and ARGUS agent John Economos (Steve Agee).
When will Creature Commandos be released?
Creature Commandos will be released on Max in the US in 2024. No UK release information has been made available.
