Netflix release a live-action remake of the hugely successful ‘90s manga series YuYu Hakusho
YuYu Hakusho is a Japanese live-action fantasy-adventure series produced by Robot Communications for Netflix. The series is based on the manga series of the same name created by Yoshihiro Togashi, which ran between 1990 and 1994. Over the course of its 19 volumes, the series succeeded in captivating audiences and inspiring future anime series such as Jujutsu Kaisen. Shō Tsukikawa directs the series, while Tatsurō Mishima writes the screenplay.
YuYu Hakusho stars singer, actor, and model Takumi Kitamura as Yusuke Urameshi, who goes from delinquent to detective investigating supernatural events after he is killed in an act of selflessness and resurrected. The rest of the cast is rounded out by Shuhei Uesugi as Kazuma Kuwabara, Jun Shison as Kurama, Kanata Hongō, Sei Shiraishi, Kotone Furukawa, Ai Mikami, Hiroya Shimizu, Keita Machida, Meiko Kaji, Kenichi Takitō, Go Ayano, and Goro Inagaki.
