Three very different cops try to solve a murder in downtown Los Angeles

A group of LAPD officers converges on a crime scene after a murder at the Night Owl Diner in 1950s downtown Los Angeles. With organized crime on the rise, there’s deep-rooted corruption in the police force, and the investigation of this killing shines a light on the darkest corners of the LAPD. Three cops are tasked with finding the truth: Detective Lieutenant Ed Exley, by-the-book and ambitious; Officer Bud White, a violent and corruptible man; and Sergeant Vincennes, who is ready to sell his story to the press for a quick buck at any moment.
