Netflix adapts Pulitzer Prize-winning WWII novel starring Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie
All the Light We Cannot See Season 1 is the first and only season of the dramatic miniseries produced by Netflix. The miniseries is based on Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, and takes place during World War II. The story is told over the course of 4 episodes, and is adapted by the creator of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight. Shawn Levy, who directs Deadpool 3 and some episodes of Stranger Things helms the project while award-winning composer James Newton Howard creates the score for the series.
Aria Mia Loberti stars as Marie-Laure LeBlanc, a blind teen on the run with her father, Daniel LeBlanc, played by Mark Ruffalo. They seek refuge with Marie’s great-uncle Ettienne, played by Hugh Laurie. Louis Hofmann stars as the young Nazi officer Werner Pfennig, while Lars Eidinger as Reinhold von Rupel. Other cast members include Andrea Deck and Marion Bailey.
