Synopsis
Something unseen haunts the cargo and crew of this ship
Adapted from Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Last Voyage of the Demeter tells the terrifying tale of a single journey captured in the Captain’s Log. Aboard the cursed vessel is a crew of unwitting travelers and seafarers. From captain to castaway, nobody knows what is in the twenty-four unmarked boxes that are the cargo for this merchant mission. Nightly, the crew is haunted by a restless spirit that leaves no trace. Their survival on the journey from Carpathia to London is no longer in their own hands.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter is a supernatural horror film based on a chapter from the 1897 novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. The movie adapts ‘The Captain’s Log’, an isolated portion of the book that tells of a dark and disturbing mystery across the seas. Norwegian filmmaker Andre Ovredal directs the movie. He is best known for writing and directing the movie Troll Hunter, as well as handling the directing of The Autopsy of Jane Doe. He is working with frequent collaborator Roman Osin who takes the role of cinematographer for the film. The pair are shooting from a screenplay written by Bragi F. Schut, Stefan Ruzowitzky, and Zak Olkewicz.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter features Corey Hawkins playing the lead character Clemens; a surgeon and doctor who joins the fated ferry on its mysterious course. Hawkins has a host of high-profile and varied movie credits to his name including roles in Kong: Skull Island, BlacKkKlansman, The Tragedy of Macbeth, and In the Heights. He is joined by Aisling Franciosi playing Anna, a stowaway who knows nothing of the supernatural horrors that await. Liam Cunningham, of Game of Thrones fame, portrays the captain of the ship while David Dastmalchian plays first mate Wojchek. Want to know more about the movie?
