Set in a tranquil Mexican town, the narrative follows Hermano Abel Ventura (played by Alan), a compassionate monk who arrives at the San Francisco de Asís orphanage. There, he encounters Juan de Luz, affectionately nicknamed "Rayito" (portrayed by Alejandro Speitzer), a bright and endearing young boy with a mysterious past. As Hermano Abel becomes a father figure to Rayito, he also forms bonds with other children at the orphanage, including Lupita Lerma (Danna Paola Rivera), fostering a sense of family and belonging among them.
