Arthur Fleck, better known as the villainous psychopath The Joker, finds himself in Arkham Asylum where he meets fellow inmate Harley Quinn. Bonded by madness, the infamous duo wreak havoc in the musical supervillain sequel.
Joker: Folie à Deux is a psychological-thriller musical drama movie based on the DC Comics of the same name. After the success of 2019’s Joker, earning over US$1 billion worldwide, Todd Phillips returns to direct its sequel and co-writes the screenplay with Scott Silver. Joker was nominated for eleven Academy Award nominations, winning two for Best Actor (Phoenix) and Best Original Score. Phillips also co-produces the sequel with frequent collaborator Bradley Cooper. The two previously worked together on The Hangover trilogy and A Star Is Born.
Joaquin Phoenix reprises his Academy Award winning role of Arthur Fleck / Joker in the musical sequel. Co-starring is fellow Academy Award winner Lady Gaga, who plays Dr Harleen Quinzel / Harley Quinn. The duo are both inmates in Arkham Asylum, where much of the movie takes place. Zazie Beetz reprises her role as Sophie Dumond, with Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland and Harry Lawtey cast in the sequel.
