Reese Witherspoon is bringing back the bend and snap

Legally Blonde 3 is an upcoming legal-comedy movie, and threequel of Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde. Directed by Jamie Suk for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, with a screenplay from Mindy Kaling (The Office, Never Have I Ever) and Dan Goor (Brooklyn Nine-Nine). The highly successful franchise has made over US$266 million globally, with a spin-off musical and reality television series searching for the star of the Legally Blonde musical on Broadway to replace Laura Bell Bundy. After Amazon acquired MGM in April 2023, it has been announced that they are planning to expand the Legally Blonde franchise with another television series in development. 

The film has seen numerous delays and a change in creative direction with Kaling and Goor replacing Karen McCullah and Kirsten Smith who wrote the first Legally Blonde film. It was originally planned for a 2020 Valentine’s day release, but since then there has been no news on when the film is coming out. 

Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon returns as Elle Woods and as a producer on the film. Jennifer Coolidge is reprising her role as Paulette Parcelle. No other cast has been confirmed but many original cast members have expressed their interest in returning.
