Synopsis
Sanditon returns for third and final season
Charlotte returns to Sanditon with her new fiance Ralph. News of this mysterious man soon spreads like wildfire at the glamourous parties, with Charlotte's long-time suitor Alexander Colbourne having a few things to say about this recent romantic twist. The residents of Sanditon all face struggles as they search for their happily ever afters in this final season.

What to know
Andrew Davies leads Sanditon series finale
Sanditon Season 3 is a period drama based on British author Jane Austen's unfinished manuscript. Developed by Andrew Davies, Season 3 of Sanditon is the final chapter in the series. Davies used the majority of what was written by Austen to create the characters and then developed the story independently thereafter.
Andrew Davies has been writing television series since the late 1970s, including Pride and Prejudice and War and Peace. He is also credited as screenwriter of Bridget Jones' Diary alongside Richard Curtis and Helen Fielding.
The cast features Rose Williams playing Charlotte Heywood and Cai Bridgen portraying her fiance Ralph Starling as the pair return to Sanditon. Crystal Clarke plays Georgiana Lambe and Ben Lloyd-Hughes plays Alexander Colbourne. Edward Davis joins the cast as the mysterious new character, Lord Montrose. It is confirmed that Tom Weston-Jones will not reprise his role as Colonel Francis Lennox while Charlotte Spencer is another absentee from the cast.
