Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is an action fantasy movie based on the popular tabletop role-playing game with the same name. It is set during the beloved Forgotten Realms campaign that first originated in 1967. The film is written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. The directing duo are best known for directing such titles as 2015’s Vacation and 2018’s Game Night. They have also written a number of comedies including Horrible Bosses and its sequel along with being part of the writing team for 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Following several unsuccessful attempts to start production, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves eventually entered the casting phase in 2020 with the lead role being filled by Chris Pine. Michelle Rodriguez stars as Holga the Barbarian with Regé-Jean Page portraying Xenk the Paladin. Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Hugh Grant and Daisy Head star as Simon the Sorcerer, Doric the Druid, Forge Fitzwilliam the Rogue and a Red Wizard of Thay respectively. Chloe Coleman, Jason Wong and Rylan Jackson round out the cast.
