Knights of the Zodiac (2023)

The executive producer of The Witcher directs the live-action fantasy epic Saint Seiya for Toei Animation

Knights of the Zodiac is a live-action action fantasy film produced by Stage 6 Films and Toei Animation. The film is based on Masami Kurumada’s manga series Saint Seiya, and is adapted for the screen by Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken (10 Cloverfield Lane), with contributions by Kiel Murray. Knights of the Zodiac is directed by Tomasz Bagiński, who executive produced The Witcher. The plot of Saint Seiya centres around a group of warriors known as the Saints, who are assigned to protect the reincarnated goddess Athena from other gods who wish to do her and the Earth harm.  

Mackenyu (Pacific Rim: Uprising) portrays the young street warrior Seiya, who is destined to be Sienna’s protector. The young Sienna (the reincarnation of Athena) is played by Madison Iseman. Sean Bean stars as Alman Kido, a mentor figure who first discovers Sienna and recruits Seiya. They are joined by Famke Janssen as Guraad, Nick Stahl as Cassios, and Mark Dacascos as the Kido family’s butler, Mylock. Diego Tinoco joins as Nero, who is hired to kill Sienna, and David Torok plays Jaki the Beast.
