Ken Sato is a seemingly ordinary baseball player who happens to be able to transform into a giant superhero known as Ultraman. When Sato returns to Japan, he finds his world turned upside down when he is tasked with raising his enemy kaiju’s child.
Ultraman: Rising is an upcoming 3DCG animated superhero film produced by Netflix and Tsuburaya Productions. The film is based on Tsuburaya’s Ultraman franchise, which was first created by Eiji Tsuburaya in the 1960s in Japan. The franchise started as the series Ultra Q and ultimately morphed into a sprawling franchise including several television series, films, and books. Ultraman: Rising is written and directed by Shannon Tindle, who makes his directorial debut with the production. The script is co-written by Marc Haimes, and John Aoshima shares directorial duties with Tindle. Aoshima’s credits include Gravity Falls and Kubo and the Two Strings, among others.
Ultraman: Rising stars Christopher Sean as Ken Sato, a top baseball player who moonlights as a giant superhero known as Ultraman. He is joined by Gedde Watanabe, Tamlyn Tomita, Keone Young, and Julia Harriman.
