Synopsis

In Past Lives, childhood friends reconnect and wonder what could have been

Nora and Hae Sung were deeply connected childhood friends torn apart when Nora and her family emigrated from South Korea. 20 years on, Nora is living in the United States and is married to Arthur, a white American. When Nora learns that Hae Sung has been searching for her, the two rekindle their connection. As they meet each other again the pair struggle to draw the line between who they are and who they could have been.

Past Lives is a romantic comedy movie distributed and produced by A24. The movie is directed by Korean-Canadian playwright Celine Song, who makes her directorial debut with this movie. Song is also responsible for writing the screenplay.

The movie features Greta Lee as Nora and Teo Yoo as Hae Sung, the childhood friends at the heart of the story. John Magaro plays Arthur, Nora’s husband.
