Widowed and alone, Tova works as a cleaning lady in an aquarium, where she shares her thoughts with Marcellus, an older octopus who listens with rapt attention. When an injury makes her job increasingly difficult, she begins to onboard her replacement, a new-to-town wanderer named Cameron who is looking for his father. Despite their stubborn differences, this unlikely pair learns that they can relate to each other’s past pain, and with Marcellus looking on, they find solace in each other.
