In the town of Gavaldon, the mysterious School Master selects two children to enroll at the School for Good and Evil once every four years. Sophie and Agatha are best friends who are different in almost every way. Sophie loves pink, dreams of being a princess, and feels right at home at the School for Good. Agatha has an affinity for the color black and lives in a cemetery with her cat – making her well-suited for the School for Evil. When the pair are finally enrolled by the School Master, the unthinkable occurs: Agatha is sent to the School for Good while Sophie to the School for Evil. This strange turn of events puts their friendship to the test.
