Synopsis

The royal drama continues as The Crown season 6 focuses on Princess Diana’s death

The Crown season 6 will cover the history of the British royal family from 1997, and the tragic death of Princess Diana, to 2005. In this period, the show will also explore the Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’ wedding and Prince William and Kate Middleton’s early relationship after they meet at St. Andrews University in Scotland.

The Crown season 6 is the final season of the Netflix series about the British royal family. The show is created by British writer Peter Morgan, whose work also includes the 2006 film The Queen, which won Helen Mirren an Academy Award for her performance as Queen Elizabeth II. 

Imelda Staunton reprises her role as Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown, following in the footsteps of Claire Foy (season 1-2) and Olivia Colman (season 3-4) as the matriarch of the family. Jonathan Pryce also returns as Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, with Dominic West as Charles, Prince of Wales and Elizabeth Debicki as Diana, Princess of Wales. Lesley Manville plays Princess Margaret, Elizabeth’s younger sister with Olivia Wiliams as Camilla Parker Bowles and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed, Diana’s partner who also died in the 1997 car crash. Tony and Laurence Olivier award winning stage actor Bertie Carvel plays Tony Blair, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 - 2007.
