Synopsis
A New Orleans mansion turns into a nightmare as Gabbie and son seek help from experts to exorcise ghosts
Gabbie and her 9-year-old son Travis move to an oddly mansion in New Orleans to start anew, however they soon realize the place is more than what they expected as it's haunted by ghosts. They seek help from a priest, who brings in a team of experts consisting of a widowed scientist-turned-paranormal expert, a psychic from the French Quarter, and a historian with a grumpy attitude. Together, they aim to exorcise the mansion and eliminate the ghosts, preventing them from escaping.

Creator of Dear White People directs star-studded cast in adaptation of beloved Disney ride
Haunted Mansion is a horror-comedy with supernatural elements directed by Justin Simien for Disney. It is based on the popular attraction of the same name at Disneyland and is the second theatrical film adaptation following the 2003 film led by Eddie Murphy. Simien is best known for his directorial debut turned Netflix original series, Dear White People. Katie Dippold serves as the film's screenwriter whose previous writing credits include the Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy cop comedy, The Heat, as well as the reboot of Ghostbusters in 2016 which she co-wrote with Paul Feig.
Rosario Lawson leads the film portraying Gabbie while Chase W. Dillon plays her son, Travis. LaKeith Stanfield stars as paranormal expert Ben Matthias with Tiffany Haddish portraying Harriet the psychic. Owen Wilson plays a priest named Kent, Danny DeVito portrays Bruce the college history professor and Academy Award winners Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto portray Madame Leota and Alistair Crump/Hatbox Ghost respectively. Dan Levy, Hasan Minhaj and Winona Ryder round out the cast.
