All Spider-Man Movies Ranked: How to Watch the Web-Slinger's Best Films Online

Spider-Man was first created by the legendary writer Stan Lee with artist Steve Ditko. He is one of the most beloved superheroes of the genre and below are the best portrayals of the web-slinging New Yorker.

While the Japanese Spider-Man and the late 70s movie adaptations hold a special place in the canon for their sheer absurdity, the first major breakout Spider-man movies were directed by Sam Raimi in the early 2000s with Tobey Maguire defining the role. The movies were anchored by a host of excellent villains including Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn and Alfred Molina as Otto Octavius. A reboot of the Spider-Man franchise came only 4 years after the fourth Sam Raimi movie was canceled by the studio. The reboot was led by director Marc Webb with lead actor Andrew Garfield pulling on the iconic red and blue suit for The Amazing Spider-Man and the sequel.

In 2015, it was announced that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios had reached an agreement to allow the character Spider-Man to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, paving the way for his first role in Captain America: Civil War. Actor Tom Holland has been widely lauded for his performance in the role after a string of three successful movies and additional performances in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. In 2018, Sony Pictures produced the movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, an animated feature that won an Academy Award in the Best Animated Feature category. The movie includes the character Miles Morales as Spider-Man and has two in-progress sequels.

There are a few Spider-Man Universe movies, including Venom and Morbius, that could be described as a "Spider-Man movie" because they tell the story of Spider-Man villains. However, this lists only focuses on films where Spidey features as the main character. Below you'll find a complete ranking of Spider-Man movies and where to watch them all.
