Synopsis
The story of Benjamin Franklin’s time in France
In 8 years as the US ambassador to France, Benjamin Franklin was on an important diplomatic mission. Seeking the support of the French and evading the spies of the British, Franklin was a wily and effective diplomat. In the midst of fighting for independence from the British, he lobbied for the French to underwrite the new American democracy.
