Welcome to Wrexham

The first official trailer for Welcome to Wrexham Season 2 is here. Fans have been patiently waiting for a look behind-the-scenes into the rising fortunes of the Welsh soccer team and now the trailer for the FX-produced show has arrived. It promises more action on the pitch for the Red Dragons who are trying harder than ever to rise the ranks of the English soccer leagues. The trailer also teases some incredible cameos for the second season, including none other than the British monarch himself, King Charles III. The show is set to kick off on Disney+ on September 12, 2023.

As much as Welcome to Wrexham is about what happens on the pitch, the show also looks at the community around the team and the die-hard fans who love the club more than anything. The trailer for Season 2 shows just how much the fans of the club expect from their new owners and how that pressure weighs on Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. As the Welsh team seeks promotion, and the community of fans grows around the media spotlight, the stakes are high for the celebrity owners.

Season 2 looks at events that happened in the 2022/2023 season, so while fans of the club will know the results, they can tune in to see exactly what their owners have been up to throughout the season and relive those incredible moments. For fans of the show alone, a new batch of episodes promises tension and excitement as Wrexham edges closer to their goal of promotion into the English Football League 2. Expect more awkward jokes and ridiculous gags from the Hollywood owners alongside some British working-class humor from the people of Wrexham.

Wrexham AFC was purchased by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020, in an attempt to revive the third-oldest soccer team in the world. After buying the club, the pair teamed up with FX and filmed the docuseries Welcome to Wrexham. The show gave a behind-the-scenes look into the running of a soccer team and showed the events of the season 2021/2022 in an intimate way for the players and the fans. Welcome to Wrexham Season 1 is a docuseries like no other.

With Season 2 around the corner, fans can look forward to more celebrity cameos and more tension on the pitch as the Red Dragons seek success again. The Season 2 trailer shows just how much work has been put into the project; reviving the town, the fanbase, and the team – now we have to wait to see if it’s all been worth it.
