Synopsis

A new student gets a harsh education on the dos and don’ts of high school popularity

Cady is not like other girls. Having grown up on the African continent with her busy, working parents, naive Cady sees the world completely different from most other American teenage girls. So when the family moves back to the U.S. and enrolls Cady in a regular high school she’s completely unprepared. Through run-ins with the teenage A-lister clique, The Plastics, Cady has learns the fickle rules of high school.

Mean Girls is a musical comedy movie based on the stage musical of the same name, which in turn is based on the 2004 movie. As with the 2004 movie, Mean Girls is written by actress and comedian Tina Fey. The movie is directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne. Music for the movie is handled by Jeff Richmond and it is produced by Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels.

Angourie Rice stars as Cady, Renee Rapp plays Regina and Auli’i Cravalho plays Janis. Jaquel Spivey plays Damian Hubbard while Bebe Wood stars as Gretchen. Tina Fey returns as Ms. Norbury, Tim Meadows is Principal Duvall, and Jon Hamm stars as Coach Carr. Avantika Vandanapu, Christopher Britney, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Mahi Alam, Connor Ratliff, and Ashley Park are all in the cast. Mean Girls was released on January 12, 2024 in theaters.
