Set in the fictional village of Vera del Rey, the story begins with the sudden death of Ricardo Lasierra, the owner of a provincial hotel that has just earned its fourth star. At his funeral, a shocking revelation surfaces: Ricardo had a daughter, Clara Rojo, from an extramarital affair. Clara's unexpected arrival disrupts the lives of Ricardo's widow, Rita Vázquez, and his two daughters, Marta and Silvia Lasierra.
