Synopsis
Getting On takes its subject matter - care of the elderly - and gets to the heart, the hips, and the bowels of it. Funny, tough, compassionate, refreshingly un-PC, and with pathos, this is the story of one ward, in one hospital, in one overlooked corner of the modern health service. But although status isn't high, moral questions ping in from all corners. It's a long way from Holby, and at lot closer to most people's experiences.
