Castlevania: Nocturne - Season 1

After Castlevania’s wildly successful game adaptation, Netflix pursues a new storyline in the universe

Castlevania: Nocturne Season 1 is the first season of the animated dark fantasy thriller series produced by Powerhouse Animation and Project 51 Productions for Netflix. The series acts as a follow-up to Netflix’s first Castlevania, which tells the story of vampire hunter Trevor Belmont. Both series are based on the Konami video game from Japan, which was originally titled Akumajo Dracula. The Castlevania games explore several storylines that deviated into books, films, and more games. After the first Netflix’s Castlevania was widely proclaimed to be one of the best game adaptations of all time, the studio greenlit production on a new storyline.

Several members of the first series’ team return for Nocturne, including the previous co-executive producer Kevin Kolde, who this time acts as showrunner. Clive Bradely pens the script for Castlevania: Nocturne, which is based on the storylines Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, focusing on vampire hunter Richter Belmont.
