All Original Nickelodeon Shows And Where To Watch Them: A Complete Streaming Guide

Updated on

Nickelodeon launched as a national network in the United States in 1979. When it first launched, it was free from commercials and its content was primarily educational. In the mid-eighties, it started introducing more commercials between programming which was much more focused on entertainment rather than education. Nick Jr. a weekday morning block of shows for preschoolers launched in January 1988 and Nickelodeon also started investing in original animated shows around the same time. The channel has then produced a mix of animation and live-action.

Nickelodeon has also been known for launching a number of celebrities’ careers, including Ariana Grande (Sam & Cat), Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly), Jamie Lynn Spears (Zoey 101), Josh Peck (Drake & Josh) and Emma Roberts (Unfabulous). Nickelodeon is also home to some of the most beloved animated series including Avatar: The Last Airbender and Spongebob Squarepants. The list below covers only original Nickelodeon shows and not syndicated or acquired programming.
