Synopsis
Gran Turismo tells the story of a passionate gamer who wins the chance to race professionally
Jann Mardenborough is an avid gamer who loves Gran Turismo more than any other game in his collection. When Nissan hosts a video game competition, Jann enters in the hopes of winning the chance to train and become a professional race car driver in real life. But in order to make the transition from the screen to the track, Jann must heed the advice of Jack Salter, his trainer who won’t hide his skepticism.

Gran Turismo is a sports drama movie based on the video game of the same name produced by PlayStation Studios. The movie is directed by Neil Blomkamp, a filmmaker known for his works District 9, Elysium, and Chappie. The screenplay for the movie is written by Jason Hall and Zach Baylin.
Gran Turismo features Archie Madekwe in the role of Jann Mardenborough. Madekwe is known for his roles in Midsommar and Love, Death & Robots. His father Steve, is played by actor Djimon Hounsou while his mother Lesley is played by Gerri Halliwell. The movie also stars David Harbour of Stranger Things fame playing Jack Salter, Jann’s trainer. English actor Orlando Bloom known for his roles in Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean stars as Danny Moore. The wider cast includes Darren Barnet, Sang Heon Lee, Thomas Kretschmann, and Lindsay Pattison among others. Gran Turismo was released in cinemas on August 25th, 2023.
