What to know

The Flash resets the DC Extended Universe and brings in a new era

he Flash is an upcoming superhero movie based on the DC comic book character of the same name. It takes place in continuity with other DC Extended Universe (DCEU) movies such as Wonder Woman, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. Ezra Miller stars as The Flash a.k.a. Barry Allen. Joining Miller in the lead cast is Ron Livingston as Henry Allen (Barry's father) – a man wrongfully convicted of murdering his own wife.

Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck are both stepping back into their iconic Batman suits for the movie. Keaton first played the caped crusader in Tim Burton's Batman in 1989 and will reprise his role in The Flash as Bruce Wayne from an alternate universe. Having already fought side-by-side as members of the Justice League, the movie also marks Ben Affleck’s last appearance as Batman in the DCEU. The Flash also marks the DCU debut of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl portrayed by Sasha Calle.
