The Physician (2013)

A young Englishman journeys to Persia to become a healer

Set in 11th-century England, the story follows Rob Cole, whose mother dies after falling ill. Vowing to become a physician and eradicate disease, he travels across Europe to Isfahan, Persia, where the world’s greatest healer, Ibn Sina, resides. To study at the medical school, which does not admit Christians, Rob disguises himself as a Jew. His long journey and thirst for knowledge lead him into many dangerous but ultimately rewarding situations.
