A public relations specialist and the director of the Apollo 11 program strike up an unlikely bond

In the 1960s, the space race is hurtling forward at full throttle. NASA is desperate to prove to the world that America is still ahead of the Soviet Union. Cole Davis, director of NASA, is responsible for Apollo 11, the ambitious project to land an astronaut on the moon. When Davis meets marketing mogul Kelly Jones, the pair work together to rehabilitate the image of NASA to the nation. Worried that the actual landing might not succeed, Kelly and Cole direct a fake moon landing as a failsafe option.
